The EMT field is slightly unique in the state of Arizona, as oppose to other states, due to the fact that in
Arizona, one must specifically obtain Arizona EMT certification before they are eligible to apply for any EMT related jobs. However, in other states, simply having passed the NREMT exam (National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians) is enough to begin applying for various EMT related jobs. The process is actually quite simple, and simply requires you to fill out the Arizona EMT Certification form and submit it to one of the offices listed above. Recently, the form has also been offered online electronically, which has greatly sped up the process. It is actually recommended by the two offices to complete your Arizona EMT Certification form online, as the wait time will decrease dramatically. Now, there is one portion of the application that must still be mailed into either of the offices. Once you have complete the form, you can print it out and sign where specified, and then have it mailed or drop it off in person at one of the two offices listed above.
Those who have completed their EMT training, but do not have their Arizona EMT Certification, have the option of applying for a 6 month, temporary certification license. With this certification, you will be able to apply to Arizona EMT jobs, while completing the specific training requirements that are mandated by the state of Arizona.
